1.
When Being Passive is a Good Thing
In
the past, the word PASSIVE has not been
a positive word for me. That's because I've always paired
it with the word AGGRESSIVE. And passive
aggressive people drive me nuts. Perhaps you've done the
same thing.
Well today, I want to change our word association.
Let's start pairing the word PASSIVE with
the word INCOME.
I've taken a new step in that direction by adding Google
AdSense ads to my website. Have you visited my site lately?
On most of the pages you'll find a box, either at the side
or at the bottom of the page (or sometimes at the top),
with text ads linking to competitive sites or sites that
promote something I have discussed on that page. Simply look Google ads on this page to see what I mean.
The AdSense program is a pay-per-click advertising program that anyone who has a website can participate in. It's basically a shared-revenue program. When someone is interested in one of the text ads on the page and they click on it, the website owner gets a small commission.
I like it because it doesn't matter if my computer is on, or if I'm working
at my desk. It didn't cost me anything to add this to my
website (except time, of course) and I can be making money
from my website traffic 24/7. I don't have to be out selling
my services to new or existing customers. I don't have to
write any copy. I just added the code to my website, and
I can sit back and wait for the checks to roll in.
If you have a website, you can do this, too. Just go to
http://www.google.com and click on "Advertising Programs" beneath the
search tool. Then choose "Google AdSense" on the
right side. The rest is self-explanatory.
Another way to generate passive income is to join affiliate
programs—particularly two-tier programs—and
encourage others to: (1) buy the product or service through
your link that you are promoting or (2) sign up to be an
affiliate themselves.
For example, if the top-tier commission was 25% and the
second-tier commission was 10%, you would make 25%
on every sale you made directly. But if your customers
sign up to be affiliates through your link and then sell
the product to their list, you will get 10% every
time someone buys from THEM, too. (So they do the
sales and you get a commission. Very clever.)
This works great in the new "brandable" ebooks
that people are offering these days, too. Just add your
links and distribute the ebook free to your list. Then,
if anyone clicks and buys, you get a commission.
And if you sign up for programs that are membership or residual
sales programs,
you'll get that commission every month.
Get enough of those and you can really be bringing
in lots of bucks without additional time or effort.
Of course, I only promote programs that I believe in, and
that's how you should work too. That way, what you say will
soon become gospel to your customers and subscribers.
Here are a couple of residual programs that I belong to
and use for my business. If you have a need for these services,
I encourage you to buy and use the products.
==>Tom
Antion's KickStart Shopping Cart
The KickStart Shopping Cart is easy to use, has lots of
added services like autoresponders, list management, ad
bundling, and more. Download a f*ree copy of Tom Antion's "How to Pick
a Shopping Cart System that Makes You Money," which
explains all the product features (when you get there, click
on "Internet Marketing" and look for the link
to the product).
==>Armand
Morin's AudioGenerator (website audio)
This allows you to send email audio postcards and add sound
to your website. It's very easy.
You just pick up the phone, record your message, and add
the code to your website. If I can do it, anyone can. It's
a great way to bring your personality to your website. And
you'll have unlimited use for
just a dollar a day.
And
read on for another idea. I'm introducing an exciting new
website that I know you're going to LOVE...

2. New
Website Brings You Top-Line Speakers at a Fraction of the
Cost of Live Seminars
Are you like me? If you are, lately you've been getting
an increasing number of emails trying to entice you to sign
up for expensive, offline seminars.
They always sound so great, don't they? And sometimes I
would give my right arm to meet even half of the speakers,
but the price tag and time commitment are usually way out
of my budget. I mean, who can afford $2,500
or $5,000 for a three- or four-day seminar being held in
L.A. or Australia if you run your own business
in Virginia as I do? And there's a new one every week.
I usually end up deleting the emails and feeling frustrated
that I can’t attend, knowing that others somehow can
afford both the time and the money.
After months of receiving emails like this that I couldn’t
take advantage of, I finally received one that was EXACTLY
what I needed. It came from a company called Seminar
Aces, and they delivered precisely what
I was looking for.
Seminar
Aces brings you instant access to online
training seminars on marketing, search engine optimization
(SEO), lead generation, copywriting, sales, and entrepreneurship.
Now there's no need to travel or pay thousands of dollars
to listen to speakers you want to hear. (Of course, you
may still want to do this occasionally!) Seminar
Aces is only $27 a month, and even less if you sign up for
a 3-month, 6-month, or 1-year membership.
With the cost of an offline seminar running about $2,500
or more per person, you could be a Seminar Aces member with
access to new speakers each and every month, for
over 9 YEARS and it would still be less than
attending even one offline event!
Plus, the information is always available with
member access 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
There's no need to schedule when you want to listen to the
speakers because you can listen to them whenever you wish,
as many times as you want!
The speakers Seminar Aces has interviewed and recorded include
none-other-than: Tom Antion, Russell Brunson, Mike Filsaime,
Lynn Terry and more. Plus, 2 NEW SPEAKERS are
added each and every month, so the content
is always fresh and cutting edge.
Let me tell you, I was completely sold on Seminar Aces even
before I learned they have an affiliate program where I
can earn commissions by telling others about their cool,
new service. That's just icing on the cake! And, as I mentioned
in the article above, this is a two-tier affiliate,
residual commission program, so you earn money
every month from the people who subscribe through you and
from the people who subscribe through your customers. What
a deal!
The best advice that I can give you is to get in on this
today. I'm amazed that the cost is so low, and I wondered
if the owners would raise it later. Don’t worry though.
They have personally promised that once you join, you
lock in your rate for the lifetime of your membership.
Join up, log in, and start listening to the hours and hours
of amazing content these speakers have recorded. Trust me.
You're really going to be impressed with this service.
Here's
the link where you can read more about it or join.
Go on, check
it out!

Quote
of the Week
"(For
an entrepreneur) outsourcing is a big leap to make. But
if you can get past the control-freak part, hire a temporary
worker. I've got two words for you: 'minimum wage'. You
only have so many hours in a day. If you want to make
more money, you have to outsource."

5. A
Little Fun
Thanks to Candace Womack Dettloff for this one.
If you're not familiar with the work of Steven Wright, he's
the famous scientist who once said,"I woke up one morning
and all of my stuff had been stolen..and replaced by exact
duplicates." His mind sees things differently than
we do, to our amazement and amusement. Here are some more
of his gems
(maybe he should have been in advertising):
1- I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
2- Borrow money from pessimists -- they don't expect it
back.
3- Half the people you know are below average.
4- 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name.
5- 42.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
6- A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts
feel so good.
7- A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.
8- If you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.
9- All those who believe in psycho-kinesis, raise my hand.
10- The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse
gets the cheese.

. Smell
the Coffee...
Thanks
for your prayers and kind words. We still have no news about
my sister Judy's health.
Things are going well here. Roni passed her
driver's test. Now all she has to do is wait
until January 19 to get it. Well, she does have to go to
court to actually receive it (that's the rule in Virginia--a
solemn discussion with a judge before it's issued).
In the meantime, we will continue to practice, practice,
practice... especially night driving, driving in bad weather,
and driving the van (which is HUGE and will have to be her
primary vehicle, much to her chagrin...Oh, well. She could
always walk.)
I think I told you we got a bunny for Roni for her birthday.
She had been bugging us for one for several years and we
finally relented. Yesterday, I had to take Roni to the doctor
because she has some sort of eye and respiratory infection.
The doctor and I concluded that she's probably allergic
to the hay she is using for the bunny's bedding. (Better
that than the bunny!)
Nessa is getting much better at playing the clarinet. I
guess that happens when you practice once in awhile. ;-)
Her instructor was quite surprised by her amazing improvement.
This weekend will be a fall planting weekend. I have lots
of bulbs and a couple of shrubs to plant. I sure hope it's
a beautiful fall weekend.
