1. Build Your Reputation

You might be overlooking the fastest and easiest way to position yourself as an expert, get free publicity and grow your business—without leaving your home or office.

You can become known as the leading expert in your field, attract new clients or customers, and make more money without spending a penny on advertising by creating content- rich teleseminars. And you don’t even have to provide the content!

"Okay, what’s the catch?" you ask. "Who’s going to provide the content if I don’t?"

"Experts you choose and invite to join you on your teleseminar!"

"But why would they do all the work?" you ask in response.

"For some of the same reasons we suggest that you start doing teleseminars—to enhance their reputation and build their business," we reply.

Find out all about how to attract leading experts as your teleseminar guests, build your business, become an expert yourself, and make more money by doing teleseminars when you attend our advanced class on teleseminars, featuring Dan Janal, founder of GreatTeleseminars.com.

Great Teleseminars provides complete support for experts who want to conduct their own teleseminars without dealing with all the production hassles. Dan has personally supervised or presented more than 500 teleseminars, and he will share his MOST GUARDED SECRETS with you on May 11.

If you need a few quick products to sell, don’t have a clue how to find and attract the rich and famous to be your guests, or would love to position yourself as a leading expert, this is the teleseminar for you.

This is an advanced class on teleseminars, but it’s suitable to someone who is just getting started, too. Even if you are already doing teleseminars, you’ll learn new tactics for spreading your fame and making money—guaranteed.

During this teleseminar, "How to Use Teleseminars to Enhance Your Reputation and Build Your Business" with Teleseminar Expert Dan Janal, you'll learn how to:

  • Get publicity for your teleseminar in your local media so you can build your local image and attract new clients.
  • Leverage a simple press release to build your business, improve your website ranking, and position yourself as a sought-after expert in your field.
  • Maximize the content of your teleseminar to create information products you can sell over and over without adding any work to your day.
  • Learn to create niched products from one basic teleseminar to multiply your return on investment.
  • Leverage your content to build your name and fame.
  • Build your reputation by helping others build theirs or by riding on their coattails.
  • Use the power of other people’s teleseminars to grow your empire and build your money-making list.
  • Build your brand with teleseminars and related information products so when people think of an expert in your field, they think of you.
  • Build sales with a membership-only site, a private forum or a blog.
  • Use a blog, newsletter or ezine to drive traffic to your teleseminar and website.
  • Use advanced sales and marketing strategies to make more money from your info products and become known as the leading expert in your field without spending a
    dime on advertising.
  • And, when you attend the teleseminar, you can get all your questions answered about doing teleseminars.

If your business is approaching its seasonal slump, now’s the time to do something about it. Learn how to produce low-cost, quick-to-create, fast-selling teleseminar products
now. You'll find that no special equipment is needed, but a telephone headset is helpful. (Great Teleseminars can take care of all the rest of the equipment and details.)

Everyone has something they can teach others. A teleseminar is the perfect information product because:

  • You don’t have to do all the work yourself; your guest actually does most of the work.
  • You’ll get good products that you can sell again and again.
  • You can create many new products from just one teleseminar, such as: a CD, MP3, transcribed teleseminar, booklet, ebook, workbook, manual, train-the-trainer workshop, and much more.
  • Each product you create will have a different price point, attracting many different levels of customers.
  • Teleseminars and the derivative products speak to many different learning styles, which widens your sales market.
  • After you have completed three or more teleseminars, you can begin to bundle the recorded and written products to create even more valuable products to sell, so you'll make even MORE money.

Seating is limited. Don't wait to learn more and sign up.

You can attend for as little as $29.95 and you'll get a FREE recorded MP3 file of the seminar, so you can listen to it again and again. Free ebooks for premium seminar attendees.

2. How is Growing Your Business Like Pouring Freshly Made Jelly Through a Funnel?

A funnel is a handy tool. You can put it in a jar and pour hot, steaming jelly into the funnel without getting the sticky mess all over the counter. Think about it. You pour jelly in quickly and it fills up the funnel. Then you have to stop for a little while and wait for the jelly to make its way down into the jar.

If you pour too fast, it slops over the edge and usually you can't recover the jelly that dripped down the side or splashed on the counter. But the jelly that gets into your
jar is delicious and when you eat it, you feel wonderful.

Well, building your business or building up your traffic on your website is like pouring jelly through a funnel. Let me tell you how:

You have to aim straight to pour the jelly into the funnel.

If you don't know who your target market is, you won't attract many prospects into your business development funnel.

You have to keep pouring fast to keep the funnel filled.

What happens if you don't keep looking for new business? That's right. Pretty soon you don't have any business. And usually you have to talk to a lot of prospects before you
find the ones who want to work with you. I know; I've been there.

There are a few reasons for a dwindling business when you quit prospecting. For example, most of the people I meet are not good prospects for my business. They might already be working with an advertising agency or a marketing consultant and be very happy about it. Or, they might sell highly specialized products that I don't understand and we both decide I'm not the right person to help them. Even though II may be very skilled in their industry, they could still believe I don't have the right experience for their needs. We might not like each other. The prospect might be trying to sell to "everybody" (which really means they don't sell to anybody) and I can't help them reach everybody without having the budget of Coca-Cola, Proctor & Gamble and Ford Motor Company all rolled into one. And then it would still be hard. Some prospects just aren't interested and they walk away before I can even say, "Hello!" I'm sure you have experienced this in your business, too.

To keep my funnel filled, I have to continuously attract people who want to hire me to help them with their specific marketing challenges, and increase the number of people coming to my website, subscribing to my newsletter, and reading the articles and materials I produce.

Sometimes there's a bottleneck.

With jelly, if you pour too fast, there will be a back up and the jelly could flow over the sides. It's the same with business development. If you have too many people calling
you and you aren't prepared to handle the calls, you'll lose much of the potential work. So having a system in place to handle prospects and customers is important.

When the bottleneck clears, you'd better start pouring.

If you don't keep looking for business, when the rush is over, you won't have any work coming in the door. So you need to be continuously prospecting to have a steady flow of
business.

Sometimes the stuff you're pouring slops over the side and it's gone forever.

If too much business comes to you at the same time, or you have too many prospects to follow up with, you are bound to miss opportunities...and it will damage your reputation,
too. Your prospects will remember how you ignored them the first time they contacted you.

If you pour slowly but continuously, you'll keep the funnel filled.

Always keeping a certain number of prospects in your funnel, moving toward hiring you or buying your products will keep the work flowing. You have to have a lot of prospects
filling your funnel because many of them won't make it down to the spout to hire you.

When you fill up the jar, you have to find another one to hold the rest of the jelly.

If your product or service doesn't continue to be wanted or needed, you have to improve it, expand it or create some other opportunity for your prospects to buy from you.

In our recent teleseminar with Janet Switzer, Janet talked much more eloquently than I do about keeping the funnel filled, stressing "Always give people the opportunity to spend more money with you." She gave lots of tips on how to create ever-more elaborate products, how to become the leading expert, and how to move your business into the big
leagues.

Making money isn't the only reason to be in business, but I'll bet it's one of the things you enjoy about yours. Wouldn't you like to make more? Learn how from Janet Switzer. Read more about the seminar and order the CD, MP3 and transcript:

3. Where to Present Seminars

Last week, subscriber Sarah Cohen emailed, "I am seeking to find places where I can give seminars on 'The Secret to Happiness' and 'Stress Less for Success.' How should I
promote these seminars? How do I find a list of locations, organizations and events that might be interested in having me present these topics?"

And Lois says...
Sarah, there are lots of organizations that might be interested in these topics—everything from your local women's group to Rotary to colleges and universities. Most groups have weekly or monthly meetings. There are many places to look to find these organizations, and one of the best is the Directory of Associations, found in the reference section of your local library. You can also watch the business calendar section of your newspaper to find local organizations with a need for your program. And, of course, you'll want to ask all of your business associates and friends for ideas and recommendations.

Also keep an eye on groups like the National Association of Women Business Owners because they always put out a call for speakers months in advance of their annual meeting. NAWBO's annual meeting is in June (see resources below) and I'm sure
their program is filled now, but you can contact them to offer to fill in if someone doesn't show and you can also attend the conference and network your way into future
speaking gigs.

Are you a member of the National Speakers Association? You should be. Members may be able to give you referrals and tips.

Do you have a website? On your site, put a short video clip of you giving a presentation. Creating a good media room for your site will also help you promote your services. Develop a great sample area showing off what you do. Much of it would be similar to an online media room, so be sure to read my article "Make Sure Your Media Room Rocks" (scroll down to the publicity section).

And if you want in-depth information on how to promote yourself as a speaker, there's nothing better than Tom Antion's "Click: The Ultimate Guide to Electronic Marketing for Speakers" CD. You can read all about it and order it here:

Help for Aging Parents

Do you have an aging parent living far away from you? Sharon Sultan Cutler, one of the women I profiled at on my Success Secrets of Women Entrepreneurs website, has just launched the "Positive Aging Network," a national independent information hub that specializes in matching the needs of seniors with high-quality and trusted resources.
Acting as an impartial research service, the "Positive Aging Network" finds all kinds of information—including service and product providers, health services, social service
organizations, senior agencies and specialists, government assistance, social events, recreation, relocation services, community groups, singles’ groups and much more.

According to Cutler, "The Positive Aging Network" saves seniors and their caregivers time and frustration. No more searching paid advertisements, making endless phone calls, doing multiple internet searches, and interviewing a long list of companies someone has provided. From finding a companion for dad, locating a local Bingo game, checking out a singles’ group or gathering information for a safari in Kenya, help is now at hand.

Because the Positive Aging Network acts as an impartial service provider, they do not accept any paid advertising. Fees are paid by client families. For more information,
visit Mature Resources.

9. Smell the Coffee...

This is being posted on Tuesday, but I've started writing my weekly newsletters on Saturday and Sunday now. It spreads what I need to do over a longer period and helps me keep my stress level down.

On Saturday I helped my sister Nancy move into her new home. She's rented a little house in Harrisonburg. It took two trips to move all the stuff she has accumulated since she arrived here in January with very little except her clothes and her Quaker parrot. My husband and I initially filled the room Nancy rented with the essentials, and yesterday we took her more household goods that we are willing to part with. So she won't have to buy everything she needs.

Nancy is very good at finding bargains. It won't be long and she'll have a nice, cozy little home.

It was a beautiful day on Sunday and Don and I worked in our yard for several hours. I planted another variety of ground cover and hope the deer don't eat it. We haven't had much luck planting things in our yard. The deer eat just about everything. I also split the yarrow and daisies and started new patches of both. At least the deer don't eat those
plants. Well, they do eat the flowers on the daisies, but so far they've been polite and waited for the blooms to begin fading. ;-)

On Thursday we're filling another vehicle with our oldest daughter's things—boxes and boxes of family china, mementos, and a couple pieces of furniture that she has been
coveting--and driving them to her in Battle Creek, Mich. Now that Abbi has a big house where she can store her own things, we are thrilled to have one of our closets back.I'm
sure some of you can relate to this!

We're also happy we will be spending Mother's Day with Abbi, Brian and little Madeline. And, I'm happy to say, our daughter Erin will drive over from Milwaukee to meet us at
Abbi's! What a great Mother's Day.

Have a wonderful and profitable week.

Peace & Light,
Lois

P.S. Don't forget to sign up for our "How to Use Teleseminars to Enhance Your Reputation & Build Your Business" teleseminar! It's the last one until fall. Read
