3. Get More Publicity from Winning an Honor
Last week, subscriber Linda Joyce Lipinski wrote, "I love
your idea to reach the 50+ age group with fresh new products
that appeal to them. That was my idea when I created my
product, A Legacy To Remember(R), in 1999 . Our album was winner of the
National Mail Order Association's Made in America - Hot
Product Contest. How can I use this fact for publicity and
get more mileage out of this honor?"
JoAnn Hines, the Packaging Diva,

found that I have to market differently now than I did 5-10
years ago. My contacts are wedding coordinators and they are
constantly changing. Nobody stays around more than 6 months.

9. Smell the Coffee...
Momma Betty couldn't have been more surprised about her
Surprise 80th Birthday Party! Almost everyone was there.
Her sister picked her up about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, saying
she was going to take her for a visit to the "birthday
fairy." It was so cute, Momma Betty thought her younger
sister might be trying to fix her up with a man. ;-) She
didn't have a clue what was going on. When she walked in to
the church fellowship hall, she was utterly shocked. (And we
were very happy she didn't faint or have a heart attack!)
Don put together a PowerPoint presentation of old and new
photos, showing Momma Betty's life, and every time little
Madeline, our two-year-old grandchild, saw someone she knew,
she said, "Look Momma Betty." or "Look Granny Lolis." (She
can't say my name yet. I think I'll forever be "Granny
Lolis.)
Madeline's parents talk to her all the time, so she has an
extensive vocabulary for a two-year-old. My favorite is,
"I'm a genius." I'm sure there will be no lack of self-
esteem as she grows up!
