1. Meet
the King of Web Traffic: John Reese
I'd
like to introduce you to someone that everyone is talking
about today: John Reese. They're talking
about him because he is a master at getting traffic to websites
and creating buzz about his products, and today, he's launching
a brand new product that you will have the opportunity to
read about and -- if you're lucky -- get a copy for yourself
(more about that later).
John is a young man, just 36, but he's been marketing online
since he was 22. That's right. He started marketing online
in 1990 before the Web. He sees his marketing strengths
as "spying" (also known as research), testing
and tracking and being able to "connect the dots"
between concepts and ideas.
His biggest
mistake so far, he says, is, "I tried
to develop 14 sites at the same time."
Another
mistake, and the turning point before reaching
success, John says was, "Selling a domain name for
$900. The buyer then resold it for $1,000,000 IN CASH."
It made him realize "the 'easy way' to make money was
letting other people show you where the opportunities are.
The 'hard way' is to try and do something completely new."
In 1994 John Reese created one of the first autoresponder
services on the Internet. Since that time he has created
and launched over 110 projects online.
One of these projects was a
free photo-hosting service for eBay users that John started
in 1998. This service (due to a powerful Viral Marketing
"twist") became one of the Top 500 sites in the
world for web traffic in only 10 months after it was launched.
This little service used to consistently produce in excess
of $100K/month in affiliate commissions from a variety of
affiliate programs. Not bad for a service that John created
for less than $350.
During the past 7 years, John has been actively involved
with eBay. What started out as just an entertaining way
to buy things, quickly turned into a lucrative business.
John steadily became an expert at using eBay and figured
out many strategies for producing pr0fit from their site
on a consistent basis. He recently created a DVD training
product to teach others how to start and run a successful

2. What's
Holding You Back? Try the Brain Dump
I just introduced you to John Reese. In his latest newsletter
(which is a whopping 17 pages long), he describes a method
for "fast wealth building" and the "Brain
Dump" is Step #1. I'll summarize it here, but I suggest
you read
the entire newsletter here and study all the details.
Here's how you do the brain dump:
Get yourself 2 legal pads of paper. On the first legal pad,
write a list of everything you want in your life.
[Yes, write...don't use your computer. You will internalize
your list and it will make a difference if you actually
handwrite it.]
And I mean everything. Want a big, beautiful house? Do you
want a new pair of shoes? Love? Kids? The latest Stephen
King novel? Write it all down. It doesn't matter how many
pages it is. This isn't a test. You can't get it wrong.
Now, on the same pad of paper write down everything
you think you need to do. Include everything you
feel you need to do. That's right. You're making a huge,
master "to do" list. Business and personal can
be intermixed. Just get it down on paper.
I know, I know. The time-management experts will tell you
NOT to do this because it can be overwhelming. And it might
be if you weren't doing the other parts of this exercise.
So you'll have to trust me (or John Reese!) on this one.
There's a reason I'm asking you to do this.
Of course, there often are many steps to each "to do."
For right now, though, don't worry about every little step.
Just write down the general "to do." You can write
down the in-between steps later. Your goal here is to get
it all down on paper and out of your mind so you can start
to put your energy into something more profitable than "circular
thinking" about what you want and what you need to
do.
The third list is a list of all the business ideas
you have. Have you thought of new products, services
or ways to improve your current business? Write them down.
Or, are you thinking about a completely new business? Write
it down.
Now that you have made these three lists: (1) everything
you want; (2) everything you need to do or accomplish; and
(3) all your business ideas, you can move on to
your second legal pad. On this one you'll be building
a plan to accomplish what you want and need to do to make
your dreams a reality, writing down your action steps to
get you what you want.
Now you will prioritize this last list,
putting them in order by what you need to do first, second,
third, etc., all the way through your list to the very last
item (that is, when your last to do is done).
The last step in this creative process is to begin
to DO all the things you have written down. Cross
them off the list as you accomplish them. This
will be very satisfying and uplifting.
Your final list that you need to write down is everything
you owe. Every penny of it. Write down who you
owe, how much it is, and then total it up. Keep this list
handy and easy to see. Tape it to your computer so you see
it every day, all day long. If you're like me, you'd rather
bury your head in the sand instead of doing this one. But
if you write it down and look at it every day, you'll be
able to chip away at it and eventually get out of debt.
And what a sense of accomplishment you'll have when you
see that list getting smaller and finally disappearing!
I haven't completed my "brain dump" yet, but I'm
working on it. Here's what John says will happen:
"After you do this 'brain dump' exercise, I promise
you that you will feel incredible. This exercise does a
few things...
-
"It allows you to free your mind so you are no longer
focusing on much of what you've written down. Once you write
stuff down you no longer need to dwell on it. It's on that
legal pad and it's not going anywhere. This will allow you
to think much more clearly and allow you to get a lot more
done.

"It
allows you to create a 'to do' list of action steps that
you can immediately go and start accomplishing. You'll be
surprised how fast you can get things done that you want/need
to do once you have them on that list.

"By using this process you will learn to get things
done extremely fast. The faster you can get things done,
the faster your business with GROW. Your income can truly
soar once you learn to get things done quickly.
"I use this method about every two weeks to update
my 'to do' and 'idea' lists. It's very very powerful," says John.

Little Fun
If you're in retail, targeting the Boomers women crowd,
here's some good advice from someone who knows, forwarded
to us by Cameron Foster of Rowena's,
Inc.:
Many of us "Old Folks" (those
over 50, WAY over 50 or hovering near 50)
are quite confused about how we should present ourselves
We're unsure about the kind of image we are projecting and
whether or not we are correct as we try to be nice and conform
to the fashions that the designers in NYC, California, and/or
Paris inflict upon the world.
So I made a sincere study of the situation and here are
the results. I don't want to burst your bubble, but despite
what you may have seen on the streets, the following
combinations DO NOT go together and should be avoided:

nose ring and bifocals

Spiked hair and bald spots

A pierced tongue and dentures
-
Miniskirts and support hose

Ankle bracelets and corn pads

Speedo's and cellulite

A belly button ring and a gall bladder surgery scar

Short shorts and varicose veins

Please keep these basic guidelines foremost in your mind
when you shop.
